If you've never heard of CES and you are any kind of true gadget freak like we are then it should definitely be on your radar every year. It's all about coming to see the best of the best and the biggest of the big, and every year it gets a little zanier as each company tries to outdo the next. Sounds like a fine week to us!
I'm no spring chicken to trade shows, but this thing is just something else entirely. Everybody is there, and I mean everybody who is anything to do with electronics or has ever used or plugged in an electrical device ever in their life. And gosh do they need a big venue for it -- where else but the 3.2 million square foot monstrosity that is the Las Vegas Convention Center.
But as much as I could have spent my time taking photos of Lamborghini show cars from 20 different angles (instead of just 10 like I got) there was work to be done for the ShoZu crew! We had our own stand on the Qualcomm booth showcasing the leaps and bounds we've been making on their Brew platform which lets us support a whole stack of popular midrange phones we've never supported before. We even had an amazing espresso bar and four separate massage stations bringing the crowds in.
I'm famous! I also didn't realize until after the interview that she'd been using a coffee cup the whole time instead of a microphone.
But by far the biggest presence for ShoZu was over on the Moto booth where they were launching the new cutting edge Motorola Z10 with super fast on-the-fly video editing and ShoZu pre-loaded to shoot your media off in any direction! What more could you want from a phone, seriously.
So as you can tell I was so excited by the ShoZu buzz around the Moto booth I tripped over while taking this one, but I think it adds a certain something to the mood of the moment. Check out those crazy crowds:
And just when you thought you'd seen the last of ShoZu, we're there in the video editor too:
So that about sums up our week. There is of course no night life in Vegas so the rest of our time was spent reading the newspaper and doing Sudoku.
If you're in love with the new Z10 as much as we are, you can check it out over here on the Moto page where you'll see lots of big words like 3.2 megapixel, 30 frames per second, filmstudio, HSDPA, and of course everybody's favorite word ShoZu.
