How many uses can you find for ShoZu over the break?
How many uses can you find for ShoZu over the break?
It's that time of year already, are you surviving the mad shopping rush? Looking back at all the pics and vids we've ShoZu-ed over the past 12 months just makes me dizzy, but very glad we all had our cameraphones handy to snap and share every moment of 2008.

As a bit of a heads up, we do have a team of ShoZu experts working over the festive season. However, there is a chance you may experience a delay in response to any emails sent before January 5.

If you're after some ShoZu help in the meantime, you may wish to visit our support website or the ShoZu user forum and you might find that your question is already answered.

Wishing you a very merry Christmas and a safe and happy new year!

Motozine ZN5 with dedicated ShoZu key!

Motorola Motozine ZN5, complete with ShoZu button!
Motorola Motozine ZN5, complete with ShoZu button!
Just when you thought our one-click popup was the ultimate in simplicity, Motorola has taken the concept one step further and given ShoZu its own dedicated button on the brand new Motozine ZN5. You're a regular ShoZu user, so you know how useful and addictive this feature could be. Some ShoZu junkies I know have dreamed of this moment, and here it is!

The Motozine ZN5 is built to shoot with its 5 megapixel camera, xenon flash and the fastest click-to-click time of any cameraphone -- it takes less than one second to autofocus! And of course, it's so simple to use -- flip the lens cover back, start snapping, then simply hit the ShoZu share button when you're ready to show off. How easy can it be! Check out Motorola's presentation over here which explains how it all works.

You can get the ZN5 right now on T-Mobile USA and various other networks world wide. More US and other networks are in the pipeline.

But that's not all... If you're not a complete gadget freak who always needs the biggest and the flashiest, we're also launching a mid-range phone in conjunction with Motorola that features the same killer ShoZu button. Stay tuned for more info on that one!

We are very pleased to announce that ShoZu 4.1 for Nokia N-series is now available for download, and of course it's still free! Initially it is available only on the most popular Nokia N-series handsets; we will be increasing that coverage in order of handset popularity very soon. Also support for Feature Pack 2 (Nokia N96 et al) is in the pipeline as well.

The first batch of phones are as follows;

Nokia N95, N82, N73, N73ME, N80, N91, N70, 6680, 6682, and 6630.

Click here to get ShoZu 4.1 or simply visit m.shozu.com on your phone's web browser.

What's new?

  • Tons of improvements to speed, reliability, server connectivity and ease of use.

ShoZu + Photoshop together at last! <3

If only there was a tool to beautify the ugly mug on the left!
If only there was a tool to beautify the ugly mug on the left!
Finally, the chain of events is complete... Capture - Send - Edit - Share. What a brilliant idea!

Our exciting new partnership with Adobe brings all the advantages of both services that you already know and love into one neat little package. Simply capture the moment with your camera phone then use ShoZu to easily send your photos to Photoshop.com. You can upload full resolution or blog quality photos as well as crop, rotate, color enhance, touchup, and more - even red eye reduction! And if you really want to get serious about it, Photoshop Elements users can have all of your ShoZu uploads automatically replicated back down to your desktop - how cool is that!

So if you haven't been entirely turned off by my big boof head in the photo above, grab yourself the latest version of ShoZu here and sign up for a Photoshop.com account over here. You want to know the best bit? Both services are entirely free!

Enjoy,
The ShoZu crew

Connect and share with other users
If you're a Flickr member and want to connect and share your stuff with other ShoZu users, come and join the ShoZu users group on Flickr!

It used to be a way for users of our very early beta product to contact us a few years back. But times have changed, ShoZu has grown enormously, and we're going to be using this group as a base for our Flickr community to get more involved with the ShoZu experience. We've even got a bunch of really cool stuff to give away, so expect to see a few competitions going on there too.

All of our new ShoZu releases are based entirely on user feedback, requests and experiences. So you can also see this as an opportunity to really get your voice heard and shape the product you love into something you really, really love!

Click here to join. See you there!

For all kinds of ShoZu notifications
For all kinds of ShoZu notifications
Hey everyone, thanks for sending through all of your requests! A great one from Roland Tanglao is to update our Twitter feed with service maintenance information so you're always informed. We think it's a great idea, so if you'd like to be part of this you can follow us on Twitter at www.twitter.com/shozu

If you have anything else you'd like to request just shoot me an email or ask us on Twitter or right here on our blog.

PS. Roland also just told me that he uploads over 20 photos per day with ShoZu, so if you can beat that we'd love to hear from you ;-) Until then Roland still holds the torch with Djksar a close second at 15-20 per day.
