What on earth is geotagging?
Last weekend fellow Australian ShoZu-er, Jared, and myself decided we'd give this driving on the wrong side of the road thing a go and rented ourselves a Chevy. Tough! The only Chevs we'd seen before in Australia were Corvettes, Camaros and some of those really oldschool 50's ones. This was bound to be an exciting journey! ...so how about I don't tell you what kind of Chevy they gave us so you still think we're tough for the rest of the story..
Armed with a Nokia N82 we set off on our epic adventure. You can enable geotagging on any Series 60v3 Nokia phone or Microsoft Pocket PC with a GPS antenna by simply flicking a switch in the ShoZu Settings menu. Once you've enabled it, every photo and video you take is stamped with your geographical coordinates as you take them when you've got satellite signal:
Just remember to turn it off if you're ever somewhere you don't want your parents to find out about.
Our journey started at the top of Twin Peaks in San Francisco where we survived hurricane force winds to snap at least three photos before being blown over the edge:
The little pink dots are my three death defying photos. All I did was snap the pics and they were automatically sent to Flickr, automatically tagged with my GPS coordinates, and automatically put on my Flickr map while we kicked back and let the good times roll listening to a bit of Macho Man by the Village People in our tough Chevrolet.
It was then time to cruise across the Golden Gate bridge, east to Sausalito, then west through the Marin Headlands where we sustained multiple rock injuries to the face from more gale force winds:

From the headlands we had a fantastic view of the bay, the bridge, and the city over the roof of someone's Chevy ..I mean, our Chevy...
We also took care of a bit of unfinished business..
It was then time to head down historic Highway 1 to Santa Cruz where we frolicked with seagulls and listened to Under The Boardwalk. Unfortunately, all we had with us was Jared's mp3 player so it ended up being the Bruce Willis version:
We were so excited by Bruce's remake that we totally forgot we'd parked in a meter on some back street and returned to find a lovely pink slip on the windscreen. Fun times!
So that's how we decided to document our adventure, how about you? What's the most obscure geotagged photo you've ever taken? We'd love to see it, shoot us an email with a link!
